Fashion Report: Red and Black

Over the next few weeks I’ll be highlighting what rocked the runways for fall, while featuring the amazing artists here on DA who make it all possible. This week I’ll be focusing on Red and Black.

Red and black has always been a popular color combination, but fashion week really took it to heart this year. This Fall, runways showcased it in all sorts of cuts and details, from Louis Vuitton to MaxMara to Donna Karan.



Top-handle bags reign supreme and by danger0usangel03 is one of my favourites. It’s a tasteful, beautiful tribute to Michael Jackson, and it has hard-edged, punk flair. Clutches are nice, but I like something that will hold all my stuff. ^_^

Flowy, shapely, feminine lines and styles are the main look for this Fall, and by bluelblock, :thumb130001563: by Picksy, and :thumb127358500: by DecadentQuestion all fit the bill beautifully. The lines, cuts, and colors emphasize the curves of the body in a flattering way.

Statement pieces haven’t gone anywhere for the past few years, and only seem to be gaining momentum. by julishland is a fun, funky piece with all kinds of textures and shape, definitely a great statement piece for this season.

by BlackWings-jewelry is a classic, whimsical piece that fits right into Fall’s red and black theme. I love its Victorian feel, and you can never go wrong with filigree and cabochons.

by FxSolya is classic, timeless elegance. Pearls will forever be a classic, and these rich, wine-colored pearls make a striking statement for those who aren’t into the chunky, abstract necklaces that adorned the runways this season.

by xxpo0k13x is a beautiful example of Gothic Lolita, which is quickly gaining popularity worldwide.  The detail of the lace, pearls, and ribbons is simply amazing.

Following that theme, by mad-hatter-inc is a fun, whimsical accessory. Mini top hats are always a blast. This would go well with by Estylissimo. The lacing and attention to detail are amazing.

Veils are seen rarely these days, and by nashimiron is a beautiful example of an elegant art that has faded a bit into obscurity.

For those gamer girls out there, there is by BlackVelvett. This is one of my personal favourites. Fun vibrant patterns and black lace make this piece a must-have for gamer fashionistas this Fall!
