'Hatatose' means 'Twenty Years' in Japanese. This collection was created to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of my favorite band, Access. They are an awesome mix of j-pop and techno, and the colors and symbols used in the collection were inspired by their latest album, Secret Cluster.
This piece is a bit of a departure from the traditional visual kei cutsews that are really popular right now. I wanted a top that had the same edginess but with a bit more shape.
This was originally a plain black T-shirt. I slashed the sides and resewed them, widened the neckline, took off the sleeves, and made the armholes asymmetric. The neckline and armholes are finished with a clean double seam. The fleur-de-lis is hand painted and the top is finished with silvertone and goldtone round and pyramid studs. The paint and studs on the shirt have been heat set for maximum durability. If properly taken care of the paint should not fade and the studs should stay put.
